Biography

From October 2017, I have assumed the position of executive director of the ASEAN Regional Mine Action Center (ARMAC) which was an ASEAN entity established by the ASEAN Leaders in 2012 to serve as a center of excellence to encourage efforts to address mine/ERW problem for interested ASEAN Member States.

During my early career, I worked in the areas of finance and procurement. I started in 2013 with a local NGO and then international NGO focusing on the Cambodian basic education programme. Later, I moved to undertake the advisory position for various Asian Development Bank's projects expanding my knowledge to the aspect of project management. My enrollment in mine action began in 2012 when I was employed by the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) first as an advisor and later as a deputy secretary general. My main responsibilities assigned by CMAA were: 1.) project manager of Clearing for Results Project Phase 3 (a mine action project funded by Australia, Switzerland, Canada and UNDP); 2.) deputy leader of the task force on the development of Cambodia's National Mine Action Strategy 2018-2025 and 3.) deputy leader of the inter-ministerial working group to support the operationalization of ARMAC.

I completed a master degree of finance at Charles Sturt University in 2009. I have also attended many training courses in mine action.
