Lieutenant-Colonel Gosselin enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1981 and was commissioned into the Royal 22e Regiment in May 1987.

He spent his formative years between Regimental assignments and service with various Army and Airborne training establishments. He deployed on several missions abroad and participated in two domestic operations, Oka in 1990 and the Montreal Ice Storm in 1998. He also filled many staff positions from Battalion to Combined Joint Inter-Agency Task Force HQ in operations, plans, doctrine and training branches.

Under the mandate of the United Nations Protection Force, he deployed in 1994 as a Military Observer to Bosnia-Herzegovina. In the summer of 2002, he joined the U.S.-led CJTF-180 in Afghanistan where he assisted with the establishment of the Afghan National Army. Upon graduating from the Republic of Korea's Army Command & Staff College in 2008, he served for a year-long tour with the United Nations Command Military Armistice Commission in Panmunjom and facilitated regional cooperation at Transportation Corridor West in the Demilitarized Zone. In response to the Haiti earthquake in January 2010, he assisted with the coordination of Canada's military effort and acted as the DART Senior Liaison Officer to the Canadian Joint Task Force HQ in Port-au-Prince. In April 2010, he deployed to the Democratic Republic of the Congo for 14 months as the Chief Liaison Officer for the United Nations mission with the Congolese Military (FARDC). In the summer of 2012, he assumed the role of Deputy Director for the Joint Training & Education Division at North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) in Colorado Springs. Upon return to Canada in August 2015, as the G3 to the newly-formed Canadian Army Doctrine and Training Centre, he facilitated Canada's military training in the Arctic. In July 2016, he deployed to the Embassy of Canada in Kyiv to facilitate Canada's military contribution under OP UNIFIER with the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He is presently serving as the Canadian Defence Attache to the Kingdom of Thailand.

Lieutenant-Colonel Gosselin is a graduate of College Militaire Royal de Saint-Jean and completed a Master's in Applied Military Science from the Royal Military College in Kingston. He completed the Canadian Forces Staff School, Land Force Technical Staff Officer Course, the Combat Team Commander's Course, the Land Force Command and Staff College and the Republic of Korea's Army Command and Staff College.

Lieutenant-Colonel Gosselin is married to Cheryl Gosselin and is the proud father of three young men. He enjoys all sports, coaching youth sports and watching daily news with his family.
