Speaker in Session 10. Research and Development in Mine Action
Managing the current APOPO operations in Cambodia. APOPO is working in close partnership with CMAC, using Mine Detection Rats to clear minefields in Siem Reap and Preah Vihear Provinces.
Prior joining APOPO, Michael was working for 7 years in Israel and Palestine, taking part in establishing the local Civilian Mine Action Capacity. During that time Michael managed and supervised NTS, TS and Clearance tasks, wrote the Operational Standards, built Training and Accreditation areas, Tested Animals, Detection tools, soil processing Machines and established the Demining R&D Program. Later, became responsible of developing and promoting the clearance operations in the West Bank, working closely with the Palestinian population and stakeholders. As the person responsible for all the international activities he worked in close cooperation with international Organizations, Donors, Associations and other National Mine Action Centres. Speaks English, Russian, Spanish, Hebrew.
