Carin Salerno is Director of Cooperation of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Embassy of Switzerland, in Cambodia since August 2017.
Education: Carin Salerno earned a Master Degree in International Relations and Development Cooperation at the Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva, Switzerland.
Career path: Carin Salerno entered the Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation in 1997 and has worked in management positions in Bern, Mozambique, Serbia, Tanzania, and Myanmar. She has worked at Sentinelles, a Swiss NGO, between 1988 and 1997, in charge of social development, women's empowerment and relief programmes in Madagascar and Burkina Faso, India and Sri Lanka.
Other activities: Pro-bono co-director of Women in action Worldwide (Swiss non-forprofit organisation based in Geneva, Switzerland) and author of "The World of Women Tanzania" (2015) and "The World of Women Myanmar" (2016).
