Mr Buckley is First Secretary - Australian Embassy, Phnom Penh (2015 - present). In this role Mr Buckley is responsible for managing Australia's development cooperation on agriculture, mine action and NGO cooperation in Cambodia.
Mr Buckley has worked for the Australian Government's aid program-first with AusAID and now with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)-for over 15 years. This includes a posting to Lao PDR (2007 - 2010) where he managed Australia's Greater Mekong Water Resources Program. Mr Buckley has extensive experience working on the Australian aid program to South Asia - especially Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Nepal.
Mr Buckley holds a Masters of Social Science (International Development) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Education from the University of New England.
